The position requires multi-tasking, telephone skills, organization, time-management and attention to detail.

Greets patients; performs patient check in and check out tasks in the electronic medical record system, instructs patients on completion of paperwork, verifies patients' insurance, obtains copies of patient identification and outside records Collects co payments, coinsurance, and self-pay payments Answers, routes and transfers phone calls and messages while ensuring quality customer service for all callers Creates referrals as needed Requests and obtains outside records Communicates with Medical Assistants and Medical Providers to ensure efficient patient flow through the office and proper documentation of visits Schedules appointments according to scheduling guidelines.
Adheres to urgent and add-on patient visit guidelines and communicates such visits to clinical staff per office protocols.
Confirms appointments prior to patient visit if applicable Scans outside reports, results, specialty forms and labs into the appropriate sections of the electronic medical record Maintains and orders office supplies.
Assures all items ordered are received and follows up on incomplete orders Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information Handles incoming and outgoing faxes Performs other duties as assigned Minimum one year previous experience in a medical practice is preferred as well as one year of EMR experience.
Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to prioritize and handle a high volume of patients and patient calls.
The ability to work in a team environment with a positive and driven attitude.
Strong computer literacy.
